Committed.
To growth.
To new ventures.
Most importantly, to people.
I am an educator committed to inspiring faculty and students as they discover the world of creativity and strength that lies within each of them. I have spent fifteen years in the classroom teaching grades K - 8, with experience across multiple disciplines. I am currently the Dean of Academics in an independent school in Houston, Texas.
My classroom experience taught me that people always come first. Looking into the eyes of a student and seeing beyond their label as a student and into the heart of who they are changed everything for me. I love teaching, but I am passionate about leadership too. My favorite thing in my work day is coaching faculty. It is privilege to encourage learners that growth happens amidst risk and failure.
I believe that! My work is not work, it is a calling.
My inspiration for teaching and learning comes from nature, literature, people, and artistic expression.
I am influenced by: good books, my family, and "getting away from it all" at times.
Some things to know about me: I have restored a 1965 airstream trailer and visited 44 states in it. My son and daughter are my proudest accomplishments. And - I am an aspiring writer at heart.
